The one I struggled with the most...

I was asked to make a set of knitted items. I added a twist to this special order. I wanted to be able to surprise my buyer with cabled owls on each piece so I really had to do some major brain-work LOL I had to do my least favorite thing: Math. I mixed patterns and made my own patterns. I struggled so much on the mitts. It was a major challenge. My hardest challenge to date. But after all the struggling, I mastered it and HEY, I even got a new pattern out of the deal and I very well could profit from it in the future by making more mitts (IF they sell) Soooo, without further ado....here they are.

My Goofy daughter posing for me. Lol

Yarn Bombing...a new addiction.

I have always wanted to TRY Yarn Bombing, but never got up the gumption to actually go through with it. Well, that changed this week.  I have NOW done my very first (and second as of tonight) Yarn Bombing!!! And it was exciting. Though they are small...they are significant. =o) I now look at everything in a new way.  What can I bomb next?...adding a splash of color to this dull dreary world!!!

and #2 in front of Starbucks!!!

And then there's this dork who had to pose in the pic. LOL yessss, its me. =P

A NEW Challenge...What a fun idea!

So I was asked to make a special order. Only I kicked it up a notch. She originally asked me if I could make her a tri-tipped hat only with an owl such as the cable owl hat.  I wasnt really sure I would be able to do it..so I told her that I would crochet the pieces like the ones I did on Haileys owl hat. Anyway...I decided that since I always am excited to challenge myself to "up the ante" so to speak...that I was up for it. It could be fun. I did it and am pretty darned excited that it turned out better than I had anticipated. =o) I mean, yay! And the new owner loves it too!! Its already sold. I cant wait to make another one.

Had a special request of pink n black. Its shorter than I made the first one, but I still think its super cute! Next one will have more length in it. What do you think?

Almost done...

Just gotta weave in the ends and make straps at this point....almost there. Love practicing intarsia.

H@@T!!!

I wanted to try to knit an ear flap hat... After coming across a pattern, I went to town. I knit the hat up and then I crocheted pieces to put onto the hat. I have always loved the owl hats that I see everywhere in the crochet-land...so I was on a mission. I think it turned out really well. There are a few things I learned along the way to make it even better next time around. But I can see myself really getting into this animal hat line. =o)

Not quite finished, but sooo close.

So one of my fans on my WeBeYarnin Page on FaceBook was talking about the dog sweaters she was making and it got me in the mood to make another Peanut sweater.
I still have to weave in the yarnin, but it is very close to done. And being that this is one of my furbabies...I couldnt resist posting more than one pic. =o)

Now, this is my second FINISHED (or close to it) attempt at doing color work ie, Intarsia. I do still have a hard time carrying the yarn...the boxes tend to look split down the middle (where I was carrying yarn).  I have yet to understand why it does that or what I could be doing differently. It can only get better with practice.

Wanted to share the groovi-ness...

I was pondering whether or not I wanted to add fringe and decided to go with it! I am so glad I did...I LOVE this scarf! I really wasnt so sure about it while I was knitting it and was planning on giving it to my daughter, but I think this is one we will be sharing =o)

Stash Buster Bustin' a Move

Welp, after making a few pairs of slippers and using 2 strands of yarn...I got the idea to try to dwindle down my stash of odds n ends. I started this funky scarf for Hailey. I am kinda loving how it turned out. A lot better looking now that its off the needles. Now, I am deciding whether or not to add fringe to the ends. Hmmmmm. Oh and just a lil side note: the pink heart hat that I knitted for my friends baby shower was a huge hit!
YAY ME! =o)

It must be in the water...

Seems everywhere I look...there are babies!!! Lots and lots of babies. So, I started knitting up some baby stuff....so fun, quick, and easy.

This lil heart hat was my very first attempt at doing color-work/ intarsia. What do you think? Not too bad, eh?

In the Hot Feet...

Started knitting up some slippers for my parents for Christmas. Now my lil fam wants some too. =o)

Yay 100th Post for WeBeYarnin'

Wowee Wow Wow!  I cant believe I am on my 100th post. How exciting!!!
And what can be sweeter than a post about baby stuffs?
One of my family members is due to have a baby girl next month and she asked me to whip somethin up for her. Of course I jumped on it. =o)
This set was a quick knit. I found the hat pattern online. Then I had to make up my own mitts to match the hat.
ISNT IT JUST THE SWEETEST SET???
I sure hope I can update you all with a piccy of sweety wearing it.

Until next time...

"Hell"-O Sweater...comin right along.

I made it through to the collar! I know, I can hardly believe it myself! I was stumped in a couple parts of the pattern.  A few others said that the pattern was worded weirdly. But with a lot of help from those on my WeBeYarnin page as well as in the fb knitting group...it came out pretty well so far.

I still have to sew up the under arms and tuck in all the ends...also, there were a couple mistakes on my short rows, but I can go back and fix em right up.

"Hell"O-Sweater...

So I thought I would challenge myself when I came across this (what looked to be) simple pattern in a book from the library. I am glad I did, but boy is it ever confusing. lol. I am learning as I go. I am impressed with what I have done so far. =o)
