Lace stitch scarf

Lace Stitch that I picked up and had a hard time putting down. I was really upset that I had ran out of the grey-blue yarn, but all in all it turned out really nice even with the choice of yarn added. I like this pattern so much that I am planning on making one for my daughter using the stash of yarn I balled together. It will be a suprise of colors...

I've had a couple finished projects in the past week that I wanted to share. The first is a hat and scarf set that I actually just finished tonight. I wasnt too sure about the hat. Its a beret. What do you think???

Then I finished another sweater Peanut, our dog. She loves to strut her stuff :)

Knit Dog Sweater

Here we have our dog Peanut. She is modeling her first KNIT dog sweater. I am really proud of this sweater. I followed a pattern and it was actually easy to understand. Usually patterns and my brain do not mix well. :) Anyhow, have had many compliments on this one...so I am excited to knit the next one. Isnt she so cute? lol

Honeycomb Stitch Hat

Check out the model...isnt she adorable? Thats Hailey, my 7 year old daughter. This was my first attempt at finishing the honeycomb stitch pattern. I had tried (pic below) to make one with smaller (size 4) needles....man was that ever a struggle. Broke my needle and that was that. It was much easier on the bigger (size 9) needles. Anyhow, you can find the honeycomb stitch hat pattern on youtube. I have learned everything I know on youtube...much better than book patterns if you ask me.

Small Throw Blanket...

Trying to dwindle down my yarn stash, this is what I have come up with...a small throw for the couch. Knit in garter stitch. I am debating on adding a crochet border. I came very close to running out of yarn for each of the colors in this blanket and miraculously I finished by the skin of my teeth. lol. If I do a border it will be in a color that is similar...gotta use up the stash.

Aaaaaagh Drat!!!

Seems to be my luck lately...I learned a new stitch pattern (Honeycomb) and of course...wouldnt ya know it? My darn needle breaks right after the first use. Talk about frustrating. I am using bigger needles and attempting to make another hat with this pattern so please look forward to another post of the finished results.

Washcloth Craze

So I have fancied looking for new WC patterns and here are a few that I have finished over the last month. The ones with designs are very time consuming and make me wish that I had a printer so that I dont have to sit near the pc in order to keep up with the pattern...but sooo worth it in the end. I have a few ideas up my sleeve for blankets using these picture type WC's. I have a lot more time now that my daughter is back in school....so we shall see what my next project shall be.

Knit hat...oh the stories this hat could tell.

lol...nice title, eh? Well, there's a reason for this. I have started and re-started this hat so many times, I about gave up. I was getting pretty frustrated. I would get so far and then I would notice that I missed a stitch and I couldnt figure out how to pick it up again...finally I restarted it and had no problems....and kept on going until the very end. Lol. annnnd here it is! I thought about adding a pom-pom to it, but then I thought again. Its cute and it serves its purpose. Now back to working on my second wash cloth. I am about half way through.

One WC down, 3 to go!!!

Ok so here is my first wash cloth. Its from a pattern I found here. This one seemed to take forever! Of course, I only really worked on it at work. I have to keep my hands busy so I dont fall asleep. Anyhow, its done...looks and works great! I am not fond of the curling edges, but its ok...it serves its purpose. Now, I have ideas for making dish cloths too...lol. Always keepin busy. I have tubs upon tubs of yarn to dwindle down, so this is a good thing. :)

Yay! Done...finally! :)

This one was a fun and yet trying task at hand. I was learning as I went. As I mentioned in my last post...a lot of trial and error went into this one. But alas I am finished and I love it! It turned out soooo pretty! I am impressed with myself...lol. As an after thought, I decided to add a crochet border and it turned out very nice...made it smoother looking along the edges.
I am excited as I am about to place this on Etsy with a buyer in mind. (Thanks Kara, hope you love it as much as I do!) Now I am off to finish a hat for dh as he has been wanting a nice black beanie for a while now...be back soon!

What I am working on now.

I am learning the "Basket Weave" on needles and woah momma this one is easy to mess up if you are not paying attention. I cant tell you how many times I have had to go back and fix something. Also, I was doing the "throw over" method and was recently taught the "continental" version of knitting...I still need practice on that one. One day soon I hope to finish this scarf. Its kinda thin so I am thinking I have a lonnnng way to go in order to get it long enough to wrap around a couple times or more.

One Flopolah!

This was an attempt at mixing colors in order to make a pattern for a scarf. It turned out well and then I would notice a "boo boo" way back....and take it out and start over. I did this three times...needless to say: three times was NOT" a charm. I gave up after all that and put it aside to work on something else.

Not to mention that I had no idea what I was doing stitch wise either...I am still not so sure...

A few finished scarves

The green one I just finished the other day. It was done on the pink long loom. I just loved using these LONG looms. This was a first for me and so much fun! I was usually using the round looms for everything cuz that is what I had on hand, but as a gift from my husband, I received a set of long looms! Excitement!!! The other two scarves pictured here are called Magic Scarves....I am sure you are all aware of Magic scarves, but in case you arent...they are made in a way that you can wear them several differnt ways aside from the traditional way you would wear a scarf. I have since placed the blue and tan striped one on Etsy.com. No sales as of yet, but maybe one day...

Dog Sweater on KK Loom

This was done on the red knifty knitter loom. I had no pattern to go by...I just kinda winged it. Turned out really nice, cept for one thing: The neck hole was too big. She kept wriggling out of it. So, I added a drawstring type deal and now she cant wriggle no more...lol. I just did a 2 over 1 for the "collar" and then did 2 over 2...and then (as an end cuff to make it tight against her body) I attempted to do the p,kp,k but because I was new to it and had a small child bouncing all over the place it was very hard to keep track of where I was...lol. So I guess it looks a lot like the seed stitch? Thats what I was told anyway. All in all I am pretty proud of the outcome. What do you think?

♦Knitting Loom Manliness♦

This is my dear husband, Albert, modeling his new hats I made for him (what a great sport, eh?)...these are all trial & error...lol. I am definately learning as I go...

Most ♥loved♥

Some detail for you........

I made this loverly blanket for my daughter. I tried my best to match the curtains she has in her room. I think by far, this is my most loved crochet item. I finished in three months time.

Peanut Models her Clothes...

Ohh Peanut is such a Glamour Girl! She just loves to get dressed up in mamas trials & errors...lol
The hoodie, I re-did the hood twice and still never got it right. It even has slits for the ears...how funny, right?
She is just so funny though...as soon as she see's us pulling out one of her outfits she comes running and actually points her nose up to let me know she is ready. LOL! No Joke!

Couple 'O hats!!!

Here are a couple of hats I crocheted for a couple of friends I know..I think they turned out really nice.

See? I crochet too.

Hi! Yeah thats my ugly mug over there...lol. I love to crochet too. It was my one passion up until I discovered that I had many yarn'n talents. Its all sooo much fun. I am suprised I dont have more than two projects going on at once. So many ideas...so little time. I will share a few crochet projects in the next post.

Cuteness...

This is the hat I recently made for my daughter, Hailey. I did this one on the green knitting loom...

though with the brim it made it a bit snug. I will have to do this on the yellow loom as she adopted the "big head" symptom from her Daddy. Lol.

Now...moving right along...I was trying my luck doing the "knit purl knit purl" for the top part in white. I literally had to write "k, p" all around my green loom as when you have a small child bopping around all over the place its very hard to keep track...'specially when you are new to learning it.

I did the brim in 2 over 1, then I finished the purple in 2 over 2, then the white in p,k. Then last but not least, I added a cute lil pom pom on top. She loves it! Though she says its a bit snug as I mentioned above. Now I know what to do for next time. :)
