Good Fortune and a Kindle Cozy =o)

Every so often I put an ad out on Craigslist asking for FREE yarn. And every once in a while I will get an offer of a few skeins. NEVER have I hit the mother load like I did this last time. This wonderful woman had bought a TON of yarn from a LYS that was having a blow out sale!!! Unfortunately, until she started using this yarn for her crochetting addiction...she didnt realize she was very allergic to synthetic yarns. Instead of selling it, she gave away bags upon bags of it to friends, family, whomever....this (2 huge glad bags full) was the last of it. THIS covers my entire Queen Size Bed!!! I was soooo appreciative. I cant even imagine buying this much yarn only to have it be something I was allergic to. Yikes. Soooo, I have enough yarn that I shouldnt have to hit up the craft store for a while. lol. maybe...

Then we have the beautiful Kindle Cozy that I made for personal use. I found a cute pattern online and ended up having to Frog it due to it being entirely too big. So, I had to start again and CO only 40 stitches and wallah! Kindle Cozy <3

Diagonal Garter Stitch Scarf

Made this scarf for a friend in Australia who wanted me to surprise her....design and color-wise. I had never done Diagonal Garter Stitch before...it took a lonnnng time and it was one I def had to pay attention to. Once I was done...I realized that it was going to curl even though I had put 2 extra knit stitches on each end. That didnt do a thing to keep it flat. So I decided that I was going to add a crochet border. I added the Daisy Stitch around it. I usually add fringe, but I didnt this time around as I really liked the finished look without it.
